    Merging legacy and innovation, Porsche unveils the 60th anniversary 911 S/T

    To commemorate the 60th anniversary of the legendary 911, Porsche has unveiled the 911 S/T—a special edition that fuses a high-revving engine from the 911 GT3 RS with a manual gearbox and lightweight clutch. Limited to just 1,963 units, this model is tailored for those craving a pure driving experience. Drawing inspiration from the rich legacy of the 911 sports car, the engineers at Weissach crafted the 911 S/T by merging the capabilities of the 911 GT3 with Touring Package and the 911 GT3 RS.

    Celebrating six decades of excellence with Porsche’s 911 S/T

    This amalgamation results in an agility and driving dynamic unparalleled in the current lineup. The model boasts a 4.0-litre boxer engine from the 911 GT3 RS, combined with a short-ratio manual transmission. Its lightweight construction and running-gear setup, optimized for agility, make the 911 S/T the lightest model of the 992 generation, weighing in at only 1,380 kilograms.

    The design emphasizes GT and motorsport expertise. Aimed at maximizing the joy of driving on curvy country roads, the S/T ensures swift responsiveness due to reduced rotating mass in the engine, wheels, and brakes. Unlike the 911 GT3 RS, which is track-focused, the S/T is designed predominantly for public roads. The legacy of the 911 S/T is traced back to 1969, when Porsche introduced a race version of the 911 S, internally labeled as 911 ST. The anniversary model, built on this legacy, offers an unmatched driving experience in the 911 GT lineup.

    Dedication to a lightweight design is evident across the 911 S/T. Components such as the front bonnet, roof, and doors are crafted from carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP). Even the roll cage and rear axle anti-roll bar use the same lightweight material. Other features include magnesium wheels, a PCCB system, and a lithium-ion starter battery. Porsche engineers further enhanced the model with a unique lightweight clutch, combined with a single-mass flywheel, reducing the rotating mass by 10.5 kg.

    This design ensures the boxer engine’s nimble responsiveness, propelling the car from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds and reaching top speeds of 300 km/h. The aerodynamics of the 911 S/T are tailor-made for the open road. Standard features include a Gurney flap on the extending rear spoiler, 20-inch (front) and 21-inch (rear) magnesium wheels, and CFRP full bucket seats. An exclusive option for buyers is the Heritage Design Package. This includes the new Shoreblue Metallic exterior color, Ceramica wheel rim color, and the classic Porsche crest, reminiscent of the original 911.

    The interior showcases cloth seat centers in Classic Cognac with black pinstripes, paying homage to the brand’s illustrious past. Lastly, Porsche Design presents the Chronograph 1 – 911 S/T, exclusively for the 911 S/T customers. This timepiece embraces the lightweight design principle of the new 911 edition, featuring a titanium case and the Porsche Design WERK 01.240 with a COSC certification and flyback function.
